Do you think WAAC should amend it's rules of governance so that the role of "Positive Rep on the Board" can be changed from being an unelected "appointment for life" into an Elected Role, with the requirement to engage with the HIV Community?

If you want to comment on any of our articles or highlight a topic affecting our community, send a Letter to the Editor through our contact form or send an email to letters (at) fagmedia.com.au.
"Letters to the Editor" are one of the fastest, easiest and least time-consuming ways to have your voice heard. In our modern world, mainstream media organisations rarely publish stories about issues of concern to Queer people and so the best we can hope for is 5 minutes of Mardi Gras and Pride Parades!
In the modern economy, large organisations or associations with advertising budgets have a vested interest in containing and controlling the free flow of information to minimise constructive criticism from members of the public. By publishing "Letters to the Editor" media organisations demonstrate editorial independence through the inclusion of alternative voices and opinions not based on poll driven ideologies, popularity contests or fiscal constraints.
Unlike news stories that are written by reporters, letters allow you to state an opinion, offer an alternative viewpoint, heap praise, or move someone to action—in your own words.
Fagmedia requires all "Letters to the Editor" to be submitted with verifiable contact details, however, we will publish your letter as "name and address withheld" in circumstances where the topic raises matters of public interest and there is evidence that our revealing of the writer's identity will lead to "harmful social issues"!
The "Letters to the Editor" included on this website are not the official opinion or viewpoint of Fagmedia and thus publication should not be interpreted as an endorsement of any ideas contained within letters sent to us.
