Do you think WAAC should amend it's rules of governance so that the role of "Positive Rep on the Board" can be changed from being an unelected "appointment for life" into an Elected Role, with the requirement to engage with the HIV Community?

Subject: [spi-dish] Fwd: Exciting News! QLD Premier thanks the Sisters!!!!
As Mary-Jane has oddly managed to send this everywhere other than the DISH, I'll do it for him. As the letter is a JPG, I have transcribed it and put the transcription at the end of Sr. Mary-Jane's missive.

The Transcription:
Thank you for your email of 21 May 2012 about funding for HIV/AIDS campaigns and strategies.
Firstly, I would like to thank you for supporting my Government's decision to transform government funded HIV/AIDS campaigns in Queensland. I agree with you, that at the end of the day, the final measure of any HIV/AIDS prevention program's success is reducing the rate of HIV/AIDS infection in the community. It is clear that the current prevention campaigns in Queensland have not been working and we need to look at different ways of tackling the problem.
As you may be aware, my Government is establishing a new Ministerial Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS to provide independent expert advice on how to get Queensland's HIV/AIDS awareness strategies back on track. The council will play an important role in guiding the redirection of funds to ensure awareness campaigns and strategies are targeted and that HIV/AIDS gets the focus and attention it needs. We need to look closely at HIV prevalence and incidence in Queensland, identify patterns of infection across our community and target government funding to strategies and programs directly addressing HIV/AIDS prevention.
Thank you also for bringing the Order of Perpetual Indulgence's articles to my attention. These articles raise some very interesting points about sexual health awareness campaigns, particularly around the way in which health messages are disseminated. I note you have also forwarded these to my Cabinet colleague, the Honourable Lawrence Springborg MO, Minister for Health, and I am sure he will give them detailed consideration.
Thank you again for your support on this important matter.
Yours sincerely,
Campbell Newman. Premier of Queensland, Australia.

Hopefully the Perth sisters in Western Australia have heeded Sr Fatulina's (lol) advice in joining the new dish?
This letter from a supposed 'hick state' premier is certainly a wonderful acknowledgment of the work carried out by our western sisters.
I congratulate the WA OPI.
Dingo Vobiscum,
